CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Stories from the historic Randolph County town of Beverly's past -- including several unexplained mysterious experiences -- will be told during upcoming Lantern Tours of Historic Beverly, led by guide Karl Mulac and other Beverly Heritage Center docents dressed in pioneer-era costumes.

"The stories on the Lantern Tour will be drawn both from known history, and from some unexplained things that go bump in the night," Mulac said. "We will respectfully share the stories of Beverly's past, while exploring some family stories, folklore and mysterious experiences from the community."

The first 90-minute tour will take place Saturday at 7:30 p.m., beginning and ending at the Beverly Heritage Center. The second and final tour will begin at the same time and from the same place, on Oct. 27. Light refreshments and a discussion will be offered at the end of each tour. Tickets will be $10 for adults and $5 for Beverly Heritage Center members and children under 12. Participants are urged to bring flashlights.

The Beverly Heritage Center combines four historic buildings into one historic attraction offering museum exhibits, archives, a visitor information center and a gift shop.
