CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The latest episode of "Radio Free Charleston," "Nightmare In Wax Shirt," is online now at the PopCult blog. The bulk of this new Halloween special was recorded Sept. 29 at the first edition of the Shocka-Con horror/science fiction convention.

Musical guests include The Tom McGees, The Nanker Phelge and The Renfields. All three bands have upcoming shows: The Tom McGees perform with Qiet on Friday at FestivALL Fall's Live on the Levee; The Renfields are part of The Empty Glass' Halloween Hootenany with The Big Bad on Saturday and play The Blue Parrot with The Transylvanians on Wednesday; the Nanker Phelge has a show with Deadbeats and Barkers and The Suede Brothers on Nov. 10 at The Empty Glass.

Also in the episode is a short film by convention guest Frank Larnerd, author of the upcoming book, "Hills Of Fire: Bare-Knuckle Yarns of Appalachia," as well as scenes of Shocka-Con and The Monster Parade sprinkled throughout. During the end credits, hear snippets of The Dead Ringers, rumored to be the re-animated corpses of members of The Kanawha Kordsmen and Sweet Adelines, plus "Do The Necronomicon," performed by the Kanawha Players in "Evil Dead: The Musical."
