FUTURE EVENTS

"Loved Ones" an hourlong free addiction education presentation, will be held at 6 p.m. each Thursday on second floor of the Haddad Building, 4825 MacCorkle Ave. S.E., South Charleston. The meeting is for those wanting to learn research-based information on drug and alcohol use, identification and effective ways to help the person with an addiction. Parking is free. Handlan Chapter of the Brooks Bird Club will have an outing up the Kanawha River to Kanawha Falls on Saturday. Meet at 9 a.m. at the Daniel Boone Park. Optional lunch will be held at Glen Ferris in Gauley Bridge. Bring binoculars and scopes if available. Club will have some scopes to share. The public is invited. Kanawha Trail Club will sponsor a hike Sunday at Coonskin. Meet at 1:30 p.m. to carpool from Ohio and Randolph streets. Regroup at the swimming pool parking lot. Hike River/Hemlock/Cougar/Harry Wise trails. The hike is 3 to 4 miles on mostly level ground with some moderate grades.

West Virginia Small and Micro Business Alliance for Economic Inclusion will sponsor a Small Business Resource Summit from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at the Tamarack Conference Center in Beckley. The U.S. Small Business Administration's West Virginia District Office, West Virginia Small Business Development Center and the West Virginia Women's Business Center will be among participants. The Summit is free.
