The WV Trappers Association will hold its Fur Auction Friday through Sunday at the Gilmer County Recreation Center in Glenville. Vendors will be selling trapping supplies throughout the weekend. For information, call Janet at 304-462-5985 or log onto www.wvtrappers.com.
United Food Operation will celebrate 31 years of supplying local food pantries at its 2013 campaign kick-off at 10 a.m. Friday at Charleston's Mountain Mission Food Pantry. UFO is an all-volunteer organization that purchases and distributes food to 13 participating food pantries in Kanawha and Putnam counties. UFO Chairwoman Elaine Harris and representatives from some of the participating food pantries will speak. This year's food distribution will run from Jan. 4 through March 23. The Putnam County Democrat Club will not meet in January. The next meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 11 in the old Putnam County Courthouse, second floor. For questions, call 304-755-7139.
