West Virginians for Life: will have a rally at noon Monday in the Capitol Rotunda to support HB2364/SB487.

Town hall meeting

Delegate Tim Armstead will hold a town hall meeting from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday at the community center located at Clendenin Town Hall.

Cooking class

Putnam County Parks and Recreation Commission will host "My Mom Cooked Healthy," a free cooking class from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Valley Park Community Center in Hurricane.  Learn the recipe for success in making healthy changes from cooking expert and foodie Karen Coria. Family Fun Night

Students from West Virginia State University will lead a Family Fun Night from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Malden Elementary School. WVSU students have created a series of hands-on learning activities to educate parents and students about noted African-American author and educator Booker T. Washington, who spent part of his childhood in Malden.  Robert Harrison, dean of the College of Professional Studies at WVSU, will read the book "More Than Anything Else," which tells the story of a young Washington growing up in Malden and his desire for an education.
