Blues competition registration
The Blues, Jazz & Folk Music Society of Marietta, Ohio, is accepting applications through Jan. 17 for its 22nd annual River City Blues Competition, to be held Feb. 14-15.
There are 18 slots in the competition. Interested acts -- bands, duos or solo artists -- should visit www.bjfm.org and click on "blues competition" for rules and an application.
The competition's winner receives $1,000 cash and sponsorship to the prestigious International Blues Competition help in Memphis in early 2015 as well as an additional $500 once they register for the IBC. Second place receives $500 cash and third place $300 cash.

'Antiques Roadshow' tickets
PBS' "Antiques Roadshow" will stop at the Charleston Civic Center Aug. 16. While admission is free, tickets are required and must be applied for.
Visit www.pbs.org/antiques or call 1-888-762-3749 for an application. Applicants must be at least 18, and only one application can be submitted per household. The deadline is April 7.
