POINT PLEASANT, W.Va. -- The Mothman legend continues to draw film crews to Point Pleasant more than 40 years after residents reporting seeing the mysterious winged creature.

A film crew from NBCUniversal's "Chiller'' channel is the latest to visit the Mason County town. They recently filmed sites where Mothman sightings occurred.

Mason County Convention and Visitors Bureau Executive Director Denny Bellamy tells the Point Pleasant Register that about 15 programs have featured Point Pleasant.

The Mothman legend also was the subject of the 2002 movie "The Mothman Prophecies.''

It all began on a November night in 1966. Two couples out for an evening drive claimed they were chased by an enormous creature that looked like a man with wings on its back.
