Grizzlies, black bears and polar bears are the subject of the current Clay Center giant screen film, "Bears."
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The title of the latest Clay Center giant screen film says it all: "Bears." In the documentary, produced by the National Wildlife Foundation, you'll see bears young and old from across North America. There are grizzly bears in Alaska's McNeil River State Game Sanctuary, black bears in the Bitteroot Mountains of Montana and polar bears in the arctic environs of Canada's Hudson Bay.
In her review of the film, The New York Times' Laurel Graeber said, "Black bear cubs gambol in the grass, making honking noises that sound hilariously like geese. Polar bears do 'strange tangos on the tundra.' And when the salmon spawn, grizzlies congregate at a river, jostling for position like unruly relatives at a family picnic."
Showings are at noon, 1, 3 and 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and 1, 3, and 4 p.m. Sunday.
Film-only admission is $5 for adults and $4 for children; film and gallery admission is $12 for adults and $9.50 for children; film, gallery and planetarium admission is $14.50 for adults and $12 for children.
