THE 14TH ANNUAL OCTOBER SKY FESTIVAL: Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine. The festival was inspired by Homer Hickham's memoir "Rocket Boys," which was subsequently turned into the movie "October Sky." THE KANAWHA TRAIL CLUB HIKE: Arrowhead Trails, New River Gorge. Meet at noon to carpool from Ohio and Randolph streets. Regroup at Arrowhead parking area near Kaymoor Top, off Gatewood Road. The hike is approximately 4 miles on new trails rated moderate.
