Family-friendly concert Sunday marks seasonal CD release

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Heidi Muller and Bob Webb will perform songs from their new seasonal CD, "Light the Winter's Dark," at 3 p.m. Nov. 20 at Unity of Kanawha Valley, 804 Myrtle Road in Charleston. The CD, with lead vocals by Muller, features cello, guitars, mandolins and dulcimers, and includes some winter originals by Muller, traditional Appalachian carols, West Virginia fiddle tunes and songs of the Winter Solstice.

Guest musicians on the CD include Ron Sowell, John Lilly, Julie Adams, Mark Davis and Deron Sodaro. Selections range from "I Wonder As I Wander" and "Star of the East" to covers of Railroad Earth's "Peace on Earth," George Harrison's "Here Comes the Sun" and the Wyrd Sisters' "Solstice Carole."

There will be a reception at the church following the concert. New CDs will be available for purchase along with all of Muller and Webb's recordings. Admission is a suggested $10 donation at the door. For more information, call 304-382-9422 or visit www.heidimuller.com.
