Peter Furler: Pop. A co-founder of the Australian Christian pop rock band Newsboys, Furler also served as its original drummer and was later its lead singer for more than a decade. He departed in 2009 and released his debut solo album, "On Fire," in June. www.peterfurler.com
Kari Jobe: Singer/songwriter. In addition to her solo career, which began in 2009, Jobe is also a worship/music pastor and a member of her church's band, Gateway Worship. Building 429: Pop rock. This quartet released three independent albums in the early 2000's, but it wasn't until the band's first major label release, the EP "Glory Defined," in 2004 that it achieved breakout success. In 2005, it won the Dove Award for Best New Artist. www.building429.com
Group 1 Crew: Hip hop. This trio's last album, "Outta Space Love," has drawn comparisons to the Black Eyed Peas. Dara Maclean: Soul/urban pop. Influenced by Lauryn Hill and Motown, the 25-year-old singer from Fort Worth, Texas, describes her sound as "'70s-influenced acoustic soul meets modern pop." She released her debut album, "You Got My Attention," in July. www.daramaclean.com
For King and Country: International pop rock. Born and raised in Australia, brothers Joel and Luke Smallbone come from a musical family, which includes their sister, award-winning Christian singer/songwriter Rebecca St. James. We As Human: Hard rock. The Nashville by way of Northern Idaho quintet landed its big break after its road manager passed its demo onto Skillet while on tour with that group. Brock Gill: Illusionist. Gill has been performing illusions for more than a decade. In 2005, his documentary "The Miracles of Jesus" aired on the Discovery Channel. Nick Hall: Speaker. Hall is the founder of the nonprofit organization PULSE, a student-led outreach to unite, empower and connect college Christians.
