Miranda Lambert tickets

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday for a March 25 concert by Miranda Lambert at the Charleston Civic Center. They are $49.75 for standing room only floor admission or $25.75, $37.75 or $49.75 for seats in the upper or lower level of the arena. Opening acts are Chris Young and Jerrod Niemann. 'Lend Me a Tenor'

The Kanawha Players closes its farce "Lend Me a Tenor" with performances at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Kanawha Players Theater, 309 Beauregard St. Describing the show, Gazette reviewer Zac Taylor wrote, "Doors open and slam shut, people chase each other around furniture, a spicy Italian caricature has an extra-marital affair and a guy pretending to be a spicy Italian caricature has an affair with his own girlfriend." Eco-bead workshop

Unity of Kanawha Valley, 804 Myrtle Road, will host an eco-bead party from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday. Sherri Walker will teach participants how to make jewelry out of recycled magazines, ads and catalogs. Chris Cagle

Country singer Chris Cagle will perform at Yellowbeards Tavern in Vienna at 7 p.m. Saturday. Cagle, who found success with hits like "Laredo," "Chicks Dig It" and "I Breathe In, I Breathe Out" in the early 2000s, is touring in support of his as-yet untitled forthcoming album. Sunday Jams

Beatles tribute band Rubber Soul is the performer at this week's Sunday Jams concert held in the children's department of the Charleston Public Library, 123 Capitol St. The free 90-minute concert begins at 2 p.m. Call 304-343-4646 or visit www.kanawhalibrary.org.

Hawks Nest documentary event

On Sunday, award-winning filmmakers Mari-Lynn Evans and Phylis Geller will premiere the trailer for their PBS documentary, "Hawks Nest: Blood Beneath Our Feet," at the Culture Center. The film examines the Hawks Nest Tunnel disaster, which is one of the worst industrial disasters in American history.

The free event runs 3 to 5 p.m. and also includes guest speakers Dr. Wilburn Hayden, who will deliver the keynote speech, the Rev. Ron English, the Rev. Matthew Watts, Pastor Paul Dunn, West Virginia AFL-CIO President Kenny Perdue, Keeper of the Mountains Foundation founder Larry Gibson and Dave Saville of the West Virginia Highlands Conservancy.

Montclaire String Quartet

The Montclaire String Quartet will perform its "Heart and Soul" program at the University of Charleston's Erma Byrd Gallery at 3 p.m. Sunday. The program features Rachmaninov's "String Quartet No. 1," Barber's "String Quartet in B minor, Op. 11" and Dvorák's "Quartet in E flat major, Op. 51." Drum workshop

Chris Higgins will host a workshop on the bodhran, an Irish drum, from 4 to 5:15 p.m. Sunday at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 520 Kanawha Blvd. W. Some drums will be available, but participants are encouraged to bring their own. A frame drum is a suitable alternative. Cost is $12. The workshop is followed by the free monthly drum circle from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Call 304-881-7037.
