Symphony closes season with Tchaikovsky

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The West Virginia Symphony concludes its 2011-12 season at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Clay Center with guest pianist Katie Mahan performing George Gershwin's lively Piano Concerto in F. The bill also features Tchaikovsky's famous Fourth Symphony and Smetana's The Moldau. Maestro Grant Cooper will host Preludes, a conversation on the evening's music, at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $10 to $62 for adults and $6 to $15 for students. They're available through the Clay Center Box Office, by calling 304-561-3570 or visiting www.wvsymphony.org. ;;
