CHARLESTON, W.Va. --"Radio Free Charleston's" 158th episode, "The Liquid Canvas," is devoted to the work of Charleston filmmaker, musician and artist James Vernon Brown, The episode --  online now at thegazz.com/popcult -- is the first time an entire episode of the web show has been devoted to the work of one artist.

"RFC" producer Rudy Panucci even had Brown direct and shoot the host segments for this episode, which is named after Brown's production company. In addition to three short films by The Liquid Canvas, the episode includes music videos made by James for Sierra Ferrell, Hybrid Soul, The Bloodroots Barter with Washboard Dave and Brown's former band, Quick and Dirty.

"The fact is, I've been a fan of James' talent for so long, and he has sadly been so overlooked in this town that I felt it was time to shine the spotlight on The Liquid Canvas," said Panucci in production notes at his PopCult blog.
