West Virginia Interstate Fair

July 17-21, Mineral Wells

Concerts by Randy Houser, July 17; Hunter Hayes, July 20; the Marshall Tucker Band, July 21 and others TBA. Activities include a carnival, ATV drag racing and mud bog, truck pulls and more.

Daily admission $9, three-day pass $20, five-day pass $30.

All Good Music Festival

July 19-22, Thornville, Ohio

More than 40 acts, including The Allman Brothers Band, Phil Lesh & Friends, The Flaming Lips, Bob Weir & Bruce Hornsby with Branford Marsalis and the Mickey Hart Band. This year marks the festival's new location, but the drive time from Charleston is roughly the same. 

Four-day passes $199. No single day tickets.

Mountain Lakes Festival

July 20-22, Sutton Lake and Dam

Includes a parade, anything that floats competition, battle of the bands, cook-off, historical reenactments and more.

Appalachian String Band Festival

Aug. 1-5, Camp Washington-Carver, Clifftop

String band and old-time music, workshops and contests, plus crafts, storytelling and nightly square dances.  

Day rates: adults $15, seniors and youth $10, ages 5 and under free. Festival pass (includes camping on first-come, first-served basis): adults $45, seniors and youth $40, family $90, senior family $80.

Aug. 10-18, Fairlea

Grandstand concerts are Trace Adkins, Aug. 10; Gaither Vocal Band, Aug. 11; Landau Eugene Murphy Jr., Aug. 12; Justin Moore, Aug. 14; Brantley Gilbert and Drake White, Aug. 15; Newsboys and Building 429, Aug. 16; Buckin' B Bull Riding and Kip Moore, Aug. 17 and Victoria Justice and Max Schneider, Aug. 18. Plus other live music, motocross, carnival rides, trick dog and lumberjack shows, a family circus and more.

Adults (13 and up) $8.25 advance or $10 at gate, children $7.25 advance or $8 gate, ages 5 and under free. Ride passes available. Concert tickets range from $12 to $32 and do not include gate admission.
