Mother Blues headlines Friday's Live on the Levee

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The free Live on the Levee series at Haddad Riverfront Park continues at 7 p.m. Friday with the Charleston-based band Mother Blues. The six-piece group was founded in November 2011 and plays a mix of styles from blues to funk to rock 'n roll, with Lola Spencer on vocals, Johnny Compton and Keef Mack on guitar, Richard Alderson on percussion, Maxx Elliot on bass and Tommy Fountaine on drums.

The event also includes the Special Olympics opening ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Now in its ninth year, Live on the Levee continues through August. For more details and a complete schedule, visit www.liveontheleveecharleston.com.
