Shemekia Copeland headlines Friday's Live on the Levee

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Grammy-nominated blues singer Shemekia Copeland returns to town for a free Live on the Levee concert Friday at Haddad Riverfront park. Last here for a Clay Center concert with Robert Cray in February 2011, the blues singer has shared the stage with acts including The Rolling Stones, Buddy Guy, B.B. King, Taj Mahal and John Mayer.

On Friday, she'll share it with Charleston's own Carpenter Ants. They take the stage at 6:30 p.m., followed by Copeland at 7:45 p.m. The music runs until 10 p.m. Visit www.liveontheleveecharleston.com.
