Daughtry to play Clay Center this summer

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Single tickets go on sale to the general public June 25 for a concert by "American Idol" rocker Chris Daughtry and his band on Aug. 8 at the Clay Center.

Daughtry's 7:30 p.m. concert is the kickoff event of the Clay Center's fall performance season.

A Clay Center news release says, "With the fastest-selling rock debut in Soundscan history with 2006's self-titled album, Daughtry rocketed to the top of the charts after their front man's unforgettable run on television's most-watched show."

SafetySuit, a pop-rock band, and singer-songwriter Mike Sanchez will open the show.

Single tickets for Chris Daughtry are $35, $45 and $50 and can be purchased online at www.theclaycenter.org, in person at the Clay Center box office or by phone at 304-561-3570.

Other Clay Center Presents fall 2012 performances also go on sale at 10 a.m. June 25 to the general public. Shows include Earth Wind & Fire, Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo, Wayne Brady, Philadanco and the Charleston Light Opera Guild in "Hello, Dolly!"

Season ticket holders for the fall 2012 season of Clay Center Presents can buy tickets for Daughtry now.
