Summer arts camps
The Academy of Arts at January's has openings in its upcoming arts camp at Scott Junction Plaza in Teays Valley. It runs 9 a.m. to noon Monday through July 26 for children ages 3-7. There are classes in dance (taught by Amy Munoz-Everet), improvisational theater (Bethany Cline) and music (Marsha Isaacs), as well as arts and crafts with Barbie Dailey. Cost is $175.
The academy has added new instructors to its Stage Kicks Arts Camp in Charleston, which runs 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through July 27 for children in grades 4-7. Instructors for it are Dick Wolfe (theater), Kristen Pennington (dance), Robert Haddy (stage makeup), Mark Scarpelli (songwriting), Barbie Dailey (art), Brian Young (music), Simran Walker (fashion) and Gina Thomas (art). 'Legally Blonde' tickets
The box office for the Charleston Light Opera Guild's production of "Legally Blonde" opens Monday. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Tickets are $20 for the show, which has performances July 27-29 and Aug. 3-5 at the Civic Center Little Theater. Call 304-343-2287.
'Star Trek: TNG' film event
On Monday, Great Escape Nitro and Cinemark Huntington Mall will host a special "Star Trek: The Next Generation 25th Anniversary Event" at 7 p.m.
The screening features two popular "TNG" episodes: No. 106, "Where No One Has Gone Before" (which finds the Enterprise 2.7 million light years out of the galaxy) and No. 114, "Datalore" (in which the crew meets Data's evil twin). It also includes never-before-seen cast interviews and behind-the-scenes looks at the artists who created the show's original effects.

The Bramwell Theatre Corp. will stage the musical comedy "Smoke on the Mountain" July 26-Aug. 5 at Bramwell Wesleyan Church on North River Street. Performances are at 7 p.m., except on July 29 and Aug. 5 when they are at 3 p.m. Free entertainment at the historic depot follows the July 27-28 and Aug. 3-4 shows.

Gospel music school
The fourth annual Mountain State School of Gospel Music runs from Aug. 6-10 at Oakwood Baptist Church, 855 Oakwood Road. It has vocal classes for all ages (6 and up) and ability levels, as well as music theory classes.
Day sessions are 1 to 4 p.m., and evenings are 6 to 9 p.m. Students aren't required to attend both.
