Clay Center fundraiser

Friends of the Clay Center hosts Backyard Bluegrass: Mandolins and Mason Jars at 8 p.m. Friday in the Clay Center sculpture garden. The event for ages 21 and up features music by The Fort Hillbillies, Southern-style snacks by Embassy Suites and white whiskey drinks by Smooth Ambler Spirits.

Saints and Sinners comedy

The Saints and Sinners Comedy Tour, starring Matthew Lumpkin and Patrick Jolle, comes to the Comedy Zone at 8 p.m. Friday and 8 and 10:15 p.m. Saturday. The show mixes Lumpkin's workingman humor with Jolle's eccentric, ego-boosted comedy.

State Museum family activities

The West Virginia State Museum will hold a day of family activities from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Special activities are Classroom Jeopardy and a treasure hunt.

Sign up for Jeopardy at 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m. or 2 p.m.; the hour-long game can fit three teams per session. Among the treasure hunt items are a basketball signed by Jerry West and an antique Ouija board. All visitors receive a commemorative token featuring a black bear.

'Greater Tuna' auditions

The Alban Arts Center will hold auditions for "Greater Tuna" from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. The wacky comedy, a send-up of small-town morals and mores, has roles available for two males, who will play 20 roles between them.

Roller derby bout

The Chemical Valley Rollergirls will battle the Mother State Roller Derby of Richmond, Va., in "Too Kruel for School" at 5 p.m. Saturday in the Civic Center North Hall. Adult tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Tickets are $5 for children ages 2-12 and free for children under 2. Get them at the Civic Center box office or through Ticketmaster.
