CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A fundraiser Saturday at the Clendenin Baptist Church Fellowship Building will aid musician Roger Samples, who is battling lung cancer.

Samples has been undergoing treatment at the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Tulsa, Okla. Proceeds will help defray travel and medical costs.

There will be hot dog and baked goods sales, a 50/50 drawing, plus gospel and bluegrass music from The Samples Brothers, fiddler John Morris and others. Planners have some nice items to auction, but could use more. People are asked to bring baked goods, ice, soft drinks, paper plates and napkins.

The fun and fellowship runs from noon until 4 or 5 p.m. Admission is $1, and children get in free.

Anyone interested in donating should call 304-965-6004.
