WEST VIRGINIA HUNTING AND FISHING SHOW: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Charleston Civic Center. Admission to the event is $8 for adults and $1 for children age 6 to 12. Children younger than 6 get in free.

KANAWHA TRAIL CLUB HIKE: Thurmond/Minden Rail Trail. Meet at 12:30 p.m. to carpool from Ohio and Randolph streets and regroup at trailhead parking on W.Va. 25 near Thurmond. The hike is approximately 6 1/2 miles, is mostly level terrain, easy staircase and good views of Thurmond. A shorter version is available: Hike in and out as far as you would like. In case of bad weather, an alternate hike will be in Kanawha State Forest on Johnson Hollow/Logtown trails loop for approximately 2 miles.

FILM AUDITIONS: 5 p.m., Bluegrass Kitchen, 1600 Washington St. E. Auditions for local horror filmmaker Eamon Hardiman's latest project, "The Crawling Dead." Auditions are open to ages 18 and older. Audition sides will be provided. Actors are encouraged, but not required, to bring a headshot. They must bring a photo ID for proof of age.
