CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Sometimes a band comes together by being at the right place at the right time. For indie pop band Lucius, who has gone from nothing to growing critical acclaim, that right place was an old Victorian house in Brooklyn, and that right time was just a few short years ago.
This weekend, the band leaves New York for a short trip out, performing Saturday at the Nelsonville Music Festival in Nelsonville, Ohio, and then on "Mountain Stage" in Morgantown on Sunday.
"We're really looking forward to both shows," said singer Holly Laessig. "It's great that we're getting to come down that way."
Laessig said the group has a big summer ahead, with appearances at a variety of summer festivals including the Three River Arts Festival in Pittsburgh, the Solid Sound Festival in North Adams, Mass., and two sets during Bonnaroo in Manchester, Tenn., where they're playing the New Music Lounge and the Sonic Stage.
