CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Thursday night, Bud Light presents 50/50/1. According to the beer company, the promotion is meant to "cap off a summer-long celebration of music with a never-before-seen live music event that will see Bud Light present one concert in each of the 50 states on a single day."
Some of the artists performing include Kendrick Lamar, Dierks Bentley, Ludacris, Jimmy Eat World, The Flaming Lips and The Drive-By Truckers.
Lead singer James Trimble said his band is absolutely thrilled to be coming to Charleston and to share the stage with Needtobreathe.
"We're pumped to be on the show," he said. "Needtobreathe has blown up over the past couple of years."
It's another great show for the indie rock band that appears to be going places.
"Next week, we're opening for the Black Crowes," he said.
The show with The Black Crowes is a good fit. Both bands play a bluesy, soulful, Southern-fried brand of rock 'n' roll, and they have a similar, playful energy -- even if The Dirty Guv'nahs are a less likely to summarily fire band members or get into a fistfight backstage.
"They're an awesome band," Trimble said and confessed that he was halfway hoping for some kind of drama backstage.
