A full course of John Gorka
Advertiser

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Back in the early '90s, Rolling Stone magazine dubbed renowned singer/songwriter John Gorka a leader of the New Folk Movement. Whether old, new or ongoing, Gorka's music is beloved by generations of folk music fans.

If you've seen only snatches of him on his several visits to "Mountain Stage," experience a full-course meal of his baritone voice, smart songs and wry stage manner when he makes a Woody Hawley Concert Series appearance at 8 p.m. Saturday in the Walker Theater of the Clay Center. (Enter through the doors on Brooks Street).

Opening at 7:30 p.m. is the father/daughter duo of Mark and Micah Atkinson. Micah, a "Symphony Idol" finalist several years ago, now studies music at Belmont University in Nashville.

Tickets are $18 or $15 for seniors 60 or over. They can be purchased at www.theclaycenter.org, the Clay Center box office, at the door or by calling 304-561-3570.
