Free concert
Music from the 1920s through 2012 will be performed by the Charleston Gay Men's Chorale at free concert at 7 p.m. Saturday at Bream Memorial Church, 317 Washington St.W. Donations are appreciated for the purpose of purchasing sheet music and other necessities.
Jewish Film Festival
The fall Jewish Film Festival has a baseball theme in the two movies to be shown at 4 and 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the Culture Center, state Capitol complex. Both are free.
The 2009 film "Holy Land Hardball" (80 minutes) will be shown at 4 p.m. The story is about a Boston bagel maker's dream to combine his love of baseball and Israel and create an Israeli baseball league. His idea was met with incredulity and even hostility. However, he did it anyway.
The 2010 documentary "Jews and Baseball: An American Love Story" (90 minutes) portrays the contributions of Jewish major leaguers and the special meaning that baseball has had in the lives of American Jews. More than a film about sports, this is a story of immigration, assimilation, bigotry, heroism, the passing on of traditions, and the shattering of stereotypes. Narrated by Dustin Hoffman

"Oranges and Sunshine" concerns children who were removed by social service workers in Britain and sent to Australia for a better life. Instead, many were abused, even used as slave labor. Stars Emily Watson and Hugo Weaving. Rated R. Has subtitles for the hearing impaired.
Buffalo Octoberfest
The 25th annual Buffalo Octoberfest will feature gospel, bluegrass and country music plus arts and crafts, living history enactors, petting zoos, clowns, games, face painting and more.
Activities begins at 9 a.m. and continue until 5 p.m. Saturday at the Buffalo Shopping Center in Putnam County. Most events are free.
There will be a variety of home-style food booths, baked goods, pumpkin rolls and specialty food items. United National Bank will sponsor a WVU Tailgate Tent broadcasting the football game and offering door prizes and giveaways. Call 304-937-2747.

Boone County Haunted Trail
A changing blacked-out maze will be a highlight of the Haunted Trail of Horror at the Water Ways theme park in Julian, which opens at 7 p.m. Friday. The trail will operate until 11 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, 27 and 30. Admission is $5 with a $1 discount by bringing a new or gently used coat to donate.

'Life in Color' show canceled
The DayGlow "Life in Color" show set for Saturday at Big Sandy Superstore Arena has been canceled.
Capital High presents Snow White

Stage Company auditions
Charleston Stage Company will hold auditions for "God of Carnage" at 7 p.m. Sunday and Monday at Capitol Center Theater, 123 Capitol St.
The play is about two pairs of parents, one of whose child has hurt the other at a public park, who meet to discuss the matter in a civilized manner. However, as the evening goes on, the parents become increasingly childish, and the evening devolves into chaos.

The Alban Arts Center has announced the cast for the "Miracle on 34th Street." John Johnson as Kris Kringle, Angie Baker as Doris Walker, Chris Baker as Fred, Ashley Miller as Susan.
