Choir festival
The sixth annual Charleston Choir Festival begins at 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 900 Washington St. E. Participating choirs sing two selections representing their church's denomination.
Participants are Canaan United Methodist Church, Charleston Baptist Temple, Emmanuel Baptist Church, First Presbyterian Church, St. George Greek Orthodox Church, St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, St. Timothy Lutheran Church and St. Mark's United Methodist Church.

'To Kill a Mockingbird'
In celebration of the film's 50th anniversary, special screenings of "To Kill a Mockingbird" will be held at 2 and 7 p.m. Nov. 15 at Great Escape Nitro and Cinemark Huntington Mall. The event includes behind-the-scenes stories about filming and archival interview with key people from the production.

'Twilight' marathons
"The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 2" opens at 10 p.m. Nov. 15. Prior to the movie, which is the final in the franchise, all area theaters are holding marathons of the entire series starting at 12:30 p.m. (noon at Park Place Cinemas). Tickets also are available to see just "Breaking Dawn -- Part 1" before "Part 2." All theaters have different prices and purchase requirements. Call or visit their websites.

Opera at the movies
The Metropolitan Opera's performance of Thomas Ades' "The Tempest" will screen live at 12:55 p.m. Saturday at Great Escape Nitro and Cinemark Huntington Mall. The production is three hours and 50 minutes long.

'Richard III' auditions
The Alban Arts Center will hold auditions for Shakespeare's "Richard III" from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the center, 65 Olde Main St., St. Albans. Production dates are Feb. 22-24 and March 1-3, 2013.
Marlette Carter will direct the show. Parts are available for nine men, five women and two children, ages 8-12. Auditioners may bring a prepared classical monologue, but selected readings also will be provided.
