Luke Bryan tickets

Luke Bryan, with openers Thompson Square and Florida Georgia Line, will play the Charleston Civic Center on Feb. 9 on the Dirt Road Diaries Tour. Alpine Theatre benefit

A benefit will be held for and at Ripley's Alpine Theatre from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday. The event includes the premiere of "The Shadow of October: The Barn After Dark," a documentary on the expansion of the popular Halloween attraction, the Haunted Barn. The silent short "Second Shift" and a music video for Ripley's Brewin Company's "Stand and Defend" also will screen.

St. Nicholas visit

St. Nicholas will be at the Morgan' Kitchen Museum from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday for a free visit where he will explain the history of Christmas and Santa Claus. The museum is located on MacCorkle Avenue near Walnut Street in St. Albans. Call 304-727-5972

Jingle Jam

Huntington's First Baptist Church, 801 Sixth Ave., hosts Jingle Jam at 6 p.m. Saturday. National recording artist J. Fraze headlines, and Charleston's gospel singer Steve-O is among the other performers.

Holiday movies at Culture Center

The Culture Center Theater will hold free screenings of animated children's films Wednesday through Dec. 28. Films are shown at noon and 3 p.m. The schedule is: "Arthur Christmas," starring the PBS character, on Wednesday; Disney-Pixar's "Brave" on Dec. 27; and "Secret of the Wings," a Disney Pixie Hollow film, on Dec. 28.

There also will be children's activities relating to the arts, historic preservation and the state museum from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day in the Great Hall.
