CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- I was going to use this week to reflect on the year's best shows, characters and actors, but that, combined with all the New Year's-related goodies, would have left you reading this column until, well, the new year, so I've put the "Best Of" selections off until next week. Besides, I haven't looked that far ahead yet, but if the TV schedule is anything like the rest of the entertainment landscape (movies, local activities, etc.), there won't be much going on to cover next week anyway.
