  • "Vegas": Crime drama/Western. 10 p.m. Tuesdays.
  • Set in the 1960s, it's inspired by the true story of rancher-turned-Las Vegas Sheriff Ralph Lamb. Dennis Quaid plays Lamb, and Michael Chiklis ("The Shield") is his gangster nemesis. Jason O'Mara ("Terra Nova"), Carrie-Anne Moss ("The Matrix") and Taylor Handley ("Battle: Los Angeles") co-star.

If you can't wait until fall for new offerings, you're in luck. Several new dramas premiere this week:

  • "Dallas": 9 p.m. Wednesday, TNT. (Starts with back-to-back episodes.) The last to premiere but the most anticipated, this isn't a reboot of the show, but a sequel. Bobby and J.R. are back, as is Sue Ellen and the original theme song, but the focus is on the next generation: Bobby's adopted son, Christopher (Jesse Metcalfe, "Passions"), and J.R.'s boy, John Ross (Josh Henderson, "Over There").
  • There's plenty of soapy drama to be had, as the two camps battle over the fate of Southfork Ranch and also, of course, a woman: Elena (Jordana Brewster, "The Fast and the Furious"), who's Christopher's past love and John Ross' current flame. Also in the mix are Christopher's new wife Rebecca (Julie Gonzalo, "Eli Stone") and Bobby's wife, Ann (Brenda Strong, "Desperate Housewives'" Mary Alice).

  • "Saving Hope": 9 p.m. Thursday, NBC. A surgeon (Erica Durance, "Smallville") races to save her comatose chief surgeon fiancé (Michael Shanks, "Stargate SG-1"), who wanders the halls in spirit form. TV Guide's Matt Roush aptly called it " 'A Gifted Man' with a side of 'Grey's Anatomy.' "
  • Bunheads": 9 p.m. Monday, ABC Family. A Las Vegas showgirl (Broadway star Sutton Foster) marries and moves to a small town where she teaches ballet at the studio run by her mother-in-law (Kelly Bishop, "Gilmore Girls") in this drama from "Gilmore Girls" creator Amy Sherman-Palladino.
  • "Hollywood Heights": 9 p.m. Monday, Nickelodeon. A young songwriter's friendship with her pop star idol is at the center of this teen soap. Soap star Brittany Underwood ("One Life to Live's" Langston Wilde) is the songstress, and her idol is Cody Longo (who did a stint on "Days of Our Lives" last fall).
