CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- West Virginia Media and DISH Network have reached a contract agreement to bring WOWK-TV back to customers, officials confirmed Wednesday.

The station's Twitter account announced around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday that the channel was back on DISH Network.

Customers have been without access to WOWK-TV, the local CBS affiliate, for about two weeks. On July 11 -- which marked more than one week without the channel -- DISH Network customers received an email saying service to WOWK-TV was suspended because of a contract negotiation stalemate.

On Wednesday, Charlotte Cohen, general manager of the station, said there was an agreement reached between DISH Network and West Virginia Media, but she wasn't involved in conversations about the contract.

Several messages and emails to Bray Cary, CEO and president of West Virginia Media, weren't returned Wednesday afternoon.

Marc Lumpkin, a spokesman for DISH Network, sent a press release to the Gazette on Wednesday that said West Virginia Media and the network reached a multi-year agreement.

"DISH is pleased that the owner of West Virginia Holdings personally reached out directly to DISH to make this deal happen in the best interest of viewers in those markets," Andrew LeCuyer, DISH vice president of programming, said in the release.

The release also said the terms of the negotiation weren't disclosed.
