CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Splashfest, the Clay Center's new family fun day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, includes a host of summery activities. The schedule includes:
11 a.m. - 4 p.m.: Watercolor painting
11:30 a.m., 1 and 3:30 p.m.: Water rocket launches
Noon, 1, 2 and 3 p.m.: Water balloon toss
Noon - 4 p.m.: Aquapalooza. Use a hula-hoop to make some of the biggest bubbles you've ever seen and also make sand castles.
Noon to 4 p.m.: Construct a mini-boat out of plastic bottles, Styrofoam, balloons and other items.
12:30, 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30 p.m.: "Anything That Floats" races in which you test out your mini-boat and see how fast it can go.
1, 2 and 3 p.m.: Learn the science behind bubbles and experiment with alternative bubble wands like spatulas, funnels, curlers and more.
