CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The dead will walk among us when the free East End Zombie Walk starts at 5:30 p.m. Saturday as part of HallowEast. If you don't want to zombify yourself you can still get in on the fun with "Where's Carl?" a la AMC's hit "The Walking Dead."

Young Carl's inability to stay where he's supposed to be has become a joke among fans of the show. (His lack of supervision has also inspired the "Get Out of Here, Carl! Tumblr.) At the zombie walk, a faux Carl will be in the parade. You can search for him, and if you see him, rush over to "protect" him -- or just point and shout, "CARL! GET IN THE HOUSE!"

Walkers begin lining up at 4:45 p.m. at Moxxee Coffee on the corner of Lee and Morris streets. The route runs down Lee Street to Bradford, then Quarrier and ends on Elizabeth. For more on the walk, visit www.halloweast.com.
