CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The West Virginia Symphony Orchestra will showcase the famous "Requiem" by Mozart on Friday and Saturday in concerts starting at 8 p.m. at the Clay Center. The performances feature soprano Janet Brown, mezzo-soprano Mariel van Dalsum, tenor Gerald Gray and baritone Timothy LeFebvre, as well as the West Virginia Symphony Chorus and Marshall University Chorus.
The concerts include two other works of tragedy, loss and redemption: Wagner's "Prelude to Act III, Tristan and Isolde" and Brahms' "Tragic Overture, Op.81." Maestro Grant Cooper will host Preludes, a conversation on the evening's music, at 7 p.m.
