Mall to host fashion night Thursday
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- From 6 to 11 p.m. Thursday, Charleston Town Center will host Fashion's Night Out, part of a global shopping event. Among the activities is the final round of the mall's Project: Style competition beginning at 7 p.m. in Macy's Court.
The five teenage finalists will participate in a live style-off competition for the chance to win a $1,000 mall shopping spree and become the new face of Charleston Town Center advertising. They are Alyce Crist of Cross Lanes, Amelia Edmondson of Charleston, Kenzie Frye of Spurlockville, Taylor Ingram of Mount Carbon and Hannah Vogel of Charleston.
The 2010 winner, Simran Walker (pictured) will be on hand. On Friday, Walker was selected as one of 14 Rite Aid Glam Camp semifinalists from a pool of thousands. If she is the winner, she will be the face of the 2012 Glam Camp campaign, including appearing in an ad in Seventeen Magazine. You can vote for her from Sept. 19 to Oct. 1 at www.glamcamp.com.
The competition will be hosted by Nick Verreos of "Project Runway" season two. Immediately after the event, he will be available for a free meet-and-greet and autograph session.
There will be free parking in the mall garage after 8:30 p.m. An "It Pays to Shop Late" prize patrol will be out from 9 to 11 p.m. surprising guests caught in the act of shopping with mall gift cards ranging from $10 to $100.
