Pumpkin rolls are just one variety of cake rolls made and sold by the women of a small Lincoln County church. Their baking days are sometimes long, but the dedicated bakers say the fellowship makes long baking sessions go quickly.
Sue Dolin suggested the pumpkin roll fundraiser four years ago. At peak demand, usually around the fall and winter holidays, the woman bake and prepare more than 100 cake rolls in a day.
Occasionally, Amanda Wilburn adds cake pops to the list of items for sale. Decorated for Halloween, these cake pops resemble miniature mummy heads. Wilburn sells the cake pops for 50 cents.
