Apple crisp served at the Taste of West Virginia reception for The International Master Gardener Conference contained Golden Delicious apples, a variety that was discovered in Clay County in 1912.

Lamb sliders made with lamb raised by Gardner Farms in Waverly were served on whole wheat silver dollar buns made with wheat grown in Morgantown and baked by Brunetti's Italian Bakery in Kenova.

Visitors tasted smoked brisket served with Up The Creek pepper mustard, which is made in Montgomery.
