Wine days at Greenbrier

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. -- Opus One Wine Weekend will take place April 6-8 at The Greenbrier resort.

Michael Silacci, winemaker of Opus One, will lead the two-day tastings of current-release Opus One wines as well as back vintages.

The weekend begins with a vertical tasting April 6. Greenbrier executive chef Rich Rosendale, winner of the Bocuse d'Or USA 2012, will prepare dishes to accompany Opus One wines on April 7 at a dinner at Howard Creek Lodge.

Space is limited for guests, and early reservations are recommended. Call 888-781-0528. The price is $1,075 for a two-night single occupancy and $1,410 double occupancy.

Easter hunt at Stonewall

WESTON, W.Va. -- Stonewall Resort will hold an activity-filled Easter weekend April 7 and 8 with an Easter egg hunt, games and a brunch.

"The Easter Bunny will be in overdrive on April 7, hiding thousands of eggs for the general public to find," said Mike Hager, general manager of Stonewall Resort.

The hunt begins at 1 p.m. at the Roanoke Activity Plaza on the state park grounds for children younger than 10.

Family-fun games will be offered from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and include: jellybean races, egg bowling, sack races, egg races (for those 16 and older) and a hotshot basketball contest.

On Easter Sunday, there will be a nondenominational church service at 10 a.m. on the state park grounds. A second Easter egg hunt for resort guests will begin at 2 p.m. at Bright Star Park on the resort grounds.

Easter brunch will be served 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The price for the brunch is $32 per adult, $16 for children ages 6-10, and free for those age 5 and under. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 304-269-8880.
