Bus trip to NYC
PARKERSBURG, W.Va. -- A red-eye bus trip to New York City is scheduled for the weekend of Oct. 26-28.
The bus will depart from the south Parkersburg Kmart at 9 p.m. Oct. 26. The bus travels all night and arrives in New York at about 7 a.m. on Oct. 27 and departs again at 11:30 p.m. arriving back in Parkersburg on the morning of Oct. 28.
One seat on the bus costs $110. A $55 deposit is required with registration and the balance is to be paid no later than Sept. 15.

Tamarack road trip
BECKLEY, W.Va. -- The Tamarack Foundation is taking a WV Living magazine road trip Aug. 25 that begins with an 8 a.m. breakfast at Tamarack and travels by bus to Mercer County to tour mines, old houses and an art gallery. The return trip will take place by 9 p.m.
Tickets are $125 a person and $120 for each additional guest.
Each ticket includes breakfast and a cooking demonstration at Tamarack; tours of the Pocahontas Exhibition Mine and the historic mansions in Bramwell, with lunch at an old-fashioned soda shop in Bramwell; town and garden tours in Bluefield, a visit to Gary Bowling's House of Art in Bluefield, followed by a dinner reception at the Bluefield Arts Center.
