CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Erin Ann Thomas will read from and sign copies of her new book, "Coal in Our Veins: A Personal Story," from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 24.

The book explores the author's personal history as well as the past and present importance of coal. The author discusses the future of energy production in the United States and how it will impact our health and lives.

Also, the launch party for Colleen Anderson's young adult novel, "Missing: Mrs. Cornblossom," set in Charleston's Arlington Court, will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 29.

'Blueberry Bunny' app

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The children's book "Blueberry Bunny," written by Jeanette Robinson, of Evans, is being formatted as an app for iPad. The author said the app will allow for more interaction with children and should be available in 60 days.

The paperback for children ages 4-8 was illustrated by Kathy Kerber and published by Authorhouse (www.authorhouse.com).
