Tyler Mountain/Cross Lanes Community Services will sponsor a "Clothing Give Away" from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 20 at Cross Lanes United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall on Frontier Drive.
From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov.3, the church will hold a craft day and bake sale to raise money for the church's missions. Crafters are needed. Space is $20; $25 with a table. Call the church office at 304-776-3081.
The event includes a health fair sponsored by the Woman's Club of Cross Lanes.

Benefit coat drive
FAYETTEVILLE -- maurices at Fayette Town Center is holding a coat drive through Oct. 31 to benefit Women's Resource Center.
Customers may drop off their donations from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the store. Women and children coats are needed.
For each donation, people will receive a coupon for 20 percent off any one regular-priced maurices item.
Pumpkin in the ParkThe annual Junior League of Charleston's Pumpkin in the Park starts with an 8 a.m. registration for the 5K walk/run Oct. 27 at the state Capitol complex.
The day of fun for all ages also includes inflatables, old-fashioned carnival games and a basket raffle. The bake sale will feature recipes from the Junior League cookbooks, "Mountain Measures" and "Mountain Measures: A Second Serving."
New this year are activities to educate kids on ways to increase their heart rates and decrease their stress levels with a Children's 1-Mile Fun Run, yoga, and Zumba. Tasty and healthy snacks will be available.
The 5K and all festival activities begin at 9 a.m. To register for the 5K and children's run, call 304-346-5856.
Manna Meal art exhibit
Manna Meal's "Art in the Garden" exhibit opens Thursday in the Clay Center Grand Lobby.
The art, by West Virginia artists, all has a garden theme. Individual pieces will be sold at a free auction from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 18 in the lobby.
The event is a fundraiser for Manna Meal, Charleston's oldest soup kitchen that feeds the hungry twice a day seven days a week.
