Fall fashion: Katrina Scarpelli
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Katrina Scarpelli has a degree in fashion merchandising and management from Fashion Institute of Technology. She worked as a merchandiser at Quiksilver in New York City and is now employed in the marketing department at Charleston Town Center Mall.
What three words describe your fashion style?
Classy, eclectic, comfortable.
What's your favorite fall piece?
Scarves! They can belong to any look you're going for.
Did you buy something new to update your fall wardrobe?
Black and brown wedge boots from Off Broadway Shoes. They go with any outfit and are very comfortable.
What are your signature accessories?
Belts. They make any figure look better and any outfit more pulled together.
What piece did you splurge on and why?
An owl bracelet from Francesca's! It's gold, white and black and completes my look.
What item in your closet would you never part with?
Black leggings. I can them with almost any outfit.
What would you never wear?
Shirts that have "sayings" on them (i.e., "My boyfriend's better than yours"). Words that are printed on the butt of a pant. Why draw attention there?
Do you buy anything in bulk?
Shoes! I usually always have two pair in black and brown so I can wear them with anything.
Earrings! When I had my daughter, I made sure that I wore my favorite pair of earrings because I knew a lot of pictures were going to be taken. I knew that I wouldn't look my best, but at least my ears would look pretty!
What's your favorite piece in your wardrobe?
Long cardigan sweater.
What's are your priorities in picking clothes?
Usually the color or print of the clothing is what I'm drawn to first.
What's your weekday go-to look?
Black leggings with a long cardigan sweater. The look is so comfy yet chic.
Do you have a personal styling trick?
Leg warmers over skinny pant or leggings with a cute boot. Flower behind ear.
What's your favorite evening look?
Classy little black dress. You can never go wrong.
