Magazine subscription

A gift you can get for almost anybody is a magazine subscription. Whether a person is into sports, fashion, politics or gossip, there is a magazine for it. It's a gift that keeps giving all year, and some yearly subscriptions start at only $5. You can buy magazine subscriptions many places, but www.magazines.com has a wide selection to choose from.

Donation

If you know somebody who loves to make a difference, you can donate money to a foundation in his or her honor. At the Make-A-Wish website, for instance, you can donate money in honor of your gift recipient and print out a certificate to give to him or her. This gift makes a difference for two people.

Leg lamp

The leg lamp from "A Christmas Story" almost always gets a laugh. If you have a friend who's a fan, why not get him or her the fra-gee-lay nightlight? You can get a plug-in nightlight or a standing mini leg lamp that comes with a book of stickers from the movie. One place you can find them online is at the A Christmas Story House Gift Shop, where they sell for $14.99 and $8.99 respectively. Some local stores may have it as well, like Spencer Gifts in the mall, Books-A-Million or Toys 'R Us.

Also, Target has several "Christmas Story" items, including a leg lamp cookie cutter, in its $1 section.
