CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The 2013 WVU Extension Service Garden Calendar is available now for pickup at the Kanawha County Extension Office, Suite 101, 4700 MacCorkle Ave. SE, in Kanawha City. Calendars also can be picked up at any of the Kanawha County public libraries, Green's Feed and Seed, Capitol Market, Kanawha County Commission and the Capitol Conservation District office in Cross Lanes.

"We are always excited when the new calendar is published," says John Porter, WVU Extension agent. "It is WVU Extension's most-requested publication. It's packed with so much information that covers all steps of the gardening process, developed from years of research, wisdom and tried-and-true tips."

This year's calendar teaches gardeners how to select the proper tools, control insects, cover crops and more. It also contains day-to-day planting and harvesting reminders for the entire year.

The calendar may also be viewed and downloaded at www.ext.wvu.edu.
