HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- Organizers of train trips this fall along the New River say 1,200 seats have already been sold.

The Collis P. Huntington Railroad Historical Society is organizing the 300-mile trips on Oct. 19, 20, 26 and 27.

The trips originate from Huntington and offer visitors a glimpse of West Virginia's fall beauty and a chance to get a taste of its history. The train stops in St. Albans to pick up passengers, travels through the New River Gorge to Hinton and heads back to Huntington during peak autumn foliage season.

The trips have been held since 1966.
