Sunday's Child: Youth nervous but ready to join a family
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Meet Brenda. She is 12 years old and a very good conversationalist. She has wavy brown hair and blue eyes. She is very bright and loves to read -- her teachers say she is the best. She likes to be in plays and can work a jigsaw puzzle really fast. Brenda also has excellent manners.
Coming from a large sibling group, Brenda has been the caretaker. She needs the opportunity to be a child. She is ready to begin making a connection with a new family. This will need to be a gradual process for Brenda because she doesn't feel she "deserves" a family. She is both scared and anxious of this process. Brenda needs a patient, stable, loving family that will provide a safe and secure home in which she can thrive.
