Food pantry needs
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The Covenant House Food Pantry, at First Presbyterian Church, is expanding its hours. Additional volunteers are needed for the 1 to 3 p.m. Monday shift and 1 to 3 p.m. on the first and third Thursdays. Volunteers for the second and fourth Monday-morning shifts also are needed. GW spring fling
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- George Washington High School will hold its annual spring fling from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 27 at the school.
The event, hosted by the GW Football Boosters, will feature inflatables, vendors, a hot dog and bake sale, a book sale, a car wash and a flea market. More than 14 vendors will participate, selling items from purses to vintage items.
All proceeds benefit the GW Football Boosters with proceeds from the flea market benefiting the GW marching band.
Bone marrow donors
OAK HILL, W.Va. -- Two Oak Hill cancer victims, Chelsey Light and Jamie Massey, have joined forces to encourage more bone marrow donors.
They are hosts for Chelsey & Jamie's Day Donorama from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 27 at the Oak Hill Gospel Tabernacle, Oyler Ave.
Live music, T-shirt tie-dying and other activities are planned.
