CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Women who attended the Girls Night Out's hostess party Thursday at the Executive Air Hangar showcased the look and feel of the main event coming on Aug. 1 at Yeager Airport.
In previous years, the organizers put together a specific theme, like "Girls in Pearls" and "A Time to Shine," that were more obvious in what attendees should wear.
This year, with the "Come Fly With Me" theme, it's "more open to interpretation," said event co-chairwoman Suzette Raines.
The look is reminiscent of the days of luxury flying with ladies in pill box hats, fitted sheath or A-line dresses, short scarves tied around the neck or waist and other accessories in contrasting bold and muted tones. If motion pictures and television shows inspire your wardrobe, think "Catch Me if You Can" and "Mad Men" when planning your outfit for this year's Girls Night Out.
This event raises funds for the YWCA Resolve Family Abuse Program. The program offers 24/7 shelter, a crisis hotline and emergency intervention for victims of domestic violence.
For the next few months, the WVStyleTeam will be providing ideas of places to find looks for this big summer bash and even some DIY fashions.
