Open Stage 4 Kids!
Unity of Kanawha Valley will have its Open Stage 4 Kids! event for performers ages 5-15 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Friday at 804 Myrtle Road. Sky Kershner and Ron Sowell will host. Play an instrument, sing, dance, tell a joke, show a piece of art, magic, or just talking into a microphone. Silly songs are welcome. Kanawha Trail Club hike
Kanawha Trail Club will sponsor a hike Sunday on Babcock State Park's Skyline/Rocky/Narrow Ridge trails. Meet at 12:30 p.m. Sunday to carpool from Ohio and Randolph streets. Regroup at the park headquarters. The hike is a 4- to 51/2-mile loop on moderate trail with some steep rocky areas and 1/2-mile steep downhill. Optional: 2 miles easy out and back trail.
Kanawha Players meet
Kanawha Players will hold their general meeting at 2 p.m. June 1 at Kanawha Players Theater, 309 Beauregard St. For questions, call Katonya Hart at 304-343-PLAY. The public is welcome.
United Way yard sale
Senior Corps Programs of United Way volunteers are sponsoring a yard sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 8 at the corner of Court and Smith streets on the United Way grounds. Yard sale spaces cost $10 in advance. Hot dogs, chips and drinks will also be sold. Proceeds from the event help support the volunteer programs of RSVP and the Foster Grandparent Program.
