Dean King to make appearences to talk about new Hatfield & McCoy book
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Much has been written -- fact, fiction and legend -- of the infamous Hatfields and McCoys conflict. Yet best-selling author Dean Rusk has waded into this well-trod territory with a new nationally published book, "The Feud: The Hatfields & McCoys, The True Story" (Little, Brown and Company).
King, author of the national bestseller "Skeletons on the Zahara," will make several area appearances to promote the book, which author David Baldacci said of in a blurb: "With the detailed eye of a historian and the confident strokes of a veteran novelist, King takes us on a wild ride through a roaring slice of Americana."
King's book makes use of court records, family documents, personal explorations of the geography and locales of the feud, new medical data and forensic evidence, as well as interviews with modern-day family members.
